Early Voting
A few key things to know:
- To vote in my election, you must be registered at your current address in District 5 - This is particularly important if you've moved recently. If you need to update your registration, you must have that done by Monday, October 21 to vote in the November 5 election. The printable form to update your registration is available here: SD Voter Registration Form (you can also do this in person at the Codington County Auditor's Office).
- You can vote early at the Codington County Auditor's Office - during business hours on any weekday. The Codington County Auditor is in the Codington County Courthouse at 14 1st Ave SE, Watertown, SD.
- You can also vote by mail - The printable form to request an absentee ballot be mailed to your home is available here: SD Absentee Ballot Application. If you use this option, you can return the ballot in person to the County Auditor, or return it by mail. Please allow enough time to have it in the Auditor's hands before the election - they don't count if they are late!
- Sample ballots are available - This allows you to see ahead of time what other elections are on the general election ballot. Ballots vary depending on where you live - you can view your specific sample ballot here: Sample Ballots (If you prefer to vote in person on Election Day, this page also tells you where your polling place will be.)
